ISRAEL BANS JUULING – WHY?

First it was vaping that came under attack for being a problem. Then, when it seemed like we were making progress on vaping, juuling gets targeted. In a very strange manoeuvre, Israel has become the next locale which has banned Juuling from within its borders. So obviously, we need to look at why.

What Is The Problem?

So what’s actually the issue with Juuling? You’d think that it would be pretty considerable to get it outright banned. Apparently, the issue is less to do with the Juuling itself and more to do with the nicotine that’s in it.

Nicotine is always a tricky subject for people to navigate. Obviously, it’s an addictive substance, and this can lead to some very mixed opinions about it. In some cases, it’s easier to just ban it outright instead of taking the time to figure out a way to make it relatively safe for the general populace. In the instance of Israel, the powers that control the country have obviously decided that nicotine is something they don’t want in a large supply inside the country.

What Does This Mean For The Vape Community?

While there were some mixed reactions about Juuling when it first came about, there’s no doubt that now it’s a big part of the vaping community. Therefore, it’s worrying when a country turns away from us. There’s a lot of proof that vaping is a better option than smoking, and this by extension does include Juuling. Yes, it contains nicotine. But the tar and carbon monoxide which is unavoidable in cigarettes is absent.

It doesn’t exactly do wonders for our reputation either. The vaping community works tirelessly to try and help people understand that vaping can be a good thing. We’re forever trying to make sure that people know vaping exists, and that it’s an option to consider. This really isn’t helped when someone bans a vaping product from the country completely. It’s really not that big of a deal. Vaping is still much healthier than smoking, but people don’t see it. They consider the two to be one and the same, like vaping is somehow worse for you or the same level of problematic as smoking. This just isn’t true. Perhaps the Israeli government will understand that one day.

Overall, the banning of Juuling obviously isn’t good. It’s sad to see a country turn away a particular kind of vaping, because it doesn’t bode well for the rest of us or the community at large. Hopefully, people will start to see that vaping really isn’t an issue, and the ban will eventually be lifted. Vaping is a great alternative to smoking, but people just need to see it.
